The starting point in the search for the necessary interior solutions was the client’s wish to create a cozy men’s den, where there will be a lot of wood, stone, and concrete.
Our priorities have shifted from visual aesthetics to the nature of sensations. How our materials will be combined in life? Which will evoke a feeling at hand, visual and tactile contrast, massiveness, or lightness?
We are convinced that a lot today is not a brick on the wall and open wiring, but decorative textures and natural materials. The main zoning tool was light, color and texture.
We supported the laconic design by combining contrasting finishes — cold cement, warm wood, and natural stone. Natural and realistic textures of materials dictated color solutions to us, thereby helping to create a kind of “simplistic” atmosphere for the owner of the apartment.
